Yes, twice in a week, Jane has captured yet another stinky beast. This one’s a little smaller than his relative she caught this past weekend. He was awfully pissed off being in this cage, but he was relieved when we set him free a few miles up the road.

Jane’s first captured beast since August, 2008, is an ugly, stinky one. This one’s not the super-ugly grizzled up old mama ground hog that Jane’s been trying to capture, but it’s close.

We fired up the ol’ webcast and ran a two hour free form radio show on Thursday, June 4, 2009, to sample the latest acquisitions from our media library and have some fun with our friends. The result is this marathon Lumpy Gravy Radio Show, which started off at 0057 UTC on Friday, June 5, on WBCQ 5.110 MHz. Three minutes later the Area 51 service on 5.110 shut down, and we continued on the internet for a dozen or so listeners. At some point a friend listening somewhere out in North America fired up his HF rig and relayed us for about 90 minutes or so on 6.932 MHz or thereabouts. This generated at least a couple of reception reports that were most appreciated. Knowing we were on the funny bands gave us an opportunity to become a bit crazy, as this aircheck demonstrates. This is show number 307.

It is so refreshing to see Dick Cheney, the former Vice President and Halliburton war profiteer, descend into babbling incoherency.
Dick Cheney made clear Sunday he’d rather follow firebrand broadcaster Rush Limbaugh than former Joint Chiefs chairman Colin Powell into political battle over the future of the Republican Party.
Yes, Dick, it is so refreshing to see you try and fly the party of boobs and incompetents down into the shitter where it belongs. Yeah! Them tortures gave us some good intel! We’s all at risk from the terrerists! Obama is letting ‘em in because we can’t torture ‘em!
Oh, Dick, Dick, Dick. Who gives a crap what Colin Powell says any more?
“Well if I had to choose in terms of being a Republican, I’d go with Rush Limbaugh,” Cheney said.
Ruch Limbag? That’s rich. You and your fellow pill-popping, hatemongering, racist, anti-freedom blowhards are in for a hard ride. Thanks for cementing your place in American history as a fringe lunatic, Dick. Now go the fuck away and leave us alone.

We fired up a live radio show on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 6pm eastern time on WBCQ 5.110 MHz, basically to see if anyone was listening outside of our small group of hardcore listeners. What we found is that there are a couple of people listening out there, and a couple of them actually told us that they were here.
It’s sometimes discouraging to do a shortwave radio show because it is so extremely difficult to determine who is listening, where they are, and how many of them there are. The magic of the medium is also it’s curse - this ain’t no local FM radio station here.
