"Bob"
Wednesday, June 11, 2008, 0335, 6925 usb. Lots of Subgenius-like "Bob" mixes in a suspiciously Sycko-like mix. Definitely there, steady signal, but really weak amidst heavy atmospheric noise. SIO 212.
Unid SSTV
Sunday, February 3, 2008, 2147, 6925 usb. An interesting mix of slow scan TV in the pirate band this afternoon. I missed the first but managed to capture most of the rest. Most were transmitted in Scottie 1 mode, but at least one, the Bipolar Radio image, was in Scottie DX.
2147 "Beer Give your brain the night off"

2207 with interfering pescadories

2222 Bipolar Radio, ScottieDX mode (I missed the top of this one)

2227 Praise ''Bob'' Scottie 1 mode

2230, someone saying "hello" and "yabba dabba doo" and barking like a small dog.
2234, The Other Ones, Fall Tour

2245 Popeye

2257 Haha!

2311 Uncle Josh's Huskin' Bee by Cal Stewart

2329 Sweetmeat (he started sending the Edison record again but aborted about a third of the way in)

2336. Someone testing. Voices, squeeaks, tones, "shave and a haircut" sounds. "I Know who you are. You're going to hell." Good signal.
2337. The Simpsons Abbey Road.

2359. Kracker.

Thanks to a tipoff in alt.slack, here is another fine web site featuring all types of audio animations. Search for "Strung Out King" for a most enlightened example.

I'll wager that you didn't know the President covered U2 songs. It is, indeed, true. Thanks to c-bee1 on alt.binaries.slack for the tip-off.
Slackworthy pledge drive
Our ninth broadcast of the Church of the Subgenius Hour of Slack happened at 0100 UTC on WBCQ 7.415 megaweiners shortwave weirdwide with a nice strong signal here in Maryland. Here's hoping that the signal reached far and beyond places from it's genesis in Monticello, Maine. Did he say Zebulops? We need more frop.
Facts about Slack
From the most excellent entry on Wikipedia describing The Church of the Subgenius:
...if an ordained SubGenius minister dies and finds himself standing at the gates of Hell, ... he will be personally greeted by "Bob" Himself and receive a refund check for $90.00, along with a booklet entitled, "How to Enjoy Hell for Five Cents a Day," which costs $89.95.
Yahweh or the highway

Awesome signal with great audio fidelity from Monticello as received here in Maryland. There's more than a subtle slack influence in this one, prabob.

Shortwave pirate slack
Friday, August 19, 2005, 6925 usb, 2344. The unmistakable "Church of the Subgenius Hour of Slack!" ID. Various soundbytes, Rev. Ivan Stang rants, etc. Typical subgenii fare. Prabob!!1!! Around 2350, music from the movie "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" with the main theme at 2354. Abruptly cut by sound bytes at 2356, and more Good/Bad/Ugly music. More sound bytes, "nothin like a big cut of black coffee," Hugh Beaumont cuts from Duck and Cover, Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo. The cool pirate song with the George Harrison riff. More sound bytes and various off the wall music past 0000. "There's a cottin' pickin' yankee in this crowd" at 0016. Porky Pig's "That's All Folks" several times at 0022, then off. No ID heard.
Someone said "hidey ho" at 0024.
SIO 555 here.
Rebel against your normality
The laptop is sure working great as a sound source. Listening to today's aircheck there is truly awesome sound being produced by the Sound Blaster PC card. This, our thirty ninth venture onto the airwaves, was originally broadcast on worldwide shortwave via WBCQ 7415 and simulcasted on the 'net at 975pirateradio.com, wbcq.com, and 11l-rni.com.
Now we will break down critical components of the studio for our upcoming voyage to Maine and Massachusetts. We had so much fun this evening that we overshot our alloted time on WBCQ by a half a minute or so.
ps. Happy Birthday, Allan!
